Following a disappointing annual performance review with a prestigious organisation, this client contacted me to help her tackle the issues raised. I identified specific areas of concern and worked with her to strengthen and develop the skills she needed in her changing role. I also addressed her confidence and interpersonal skills, whilst supporting her in raising her profile within the department. Focusing on her strengths, I helped her become the ‘go to’ person in her specific area of expertise, which initially expanded her role and then developed into a new, more fulfilling and rewarding one that recognised and worked to her strengths.
Time management and personal effectiveness
I was asked to help this talented but inexperienced project manager improve her time-management and personal effectiveness within a highly demanding, pressured and deadline-driven working environment. I helped her put in place clear strategies to manage her workload more effectively and provided her with coaching and support to develop the skills, attitudes and behaviours required of her role. Her performance greatly improved, along with her people management skills. She grew in confidence, became a valuable contributor at client meetings and increased her overall worth to the organisation.
Under pressure and responsible for managing a number of MD’s throughout the country, this client was very stressed, not sleeping and convinced that the only way to change the situation was to have a breakdown. Through our coaching sessions, we identified a number of areas for improvement. The client was helped to develop more effective communication skills, enabling him to set clear boundaries, to delegate and where necessary, to negotiate better outcomes. He also implemented a number of changes on a personal level and without undermining his professional role, began to create and enjoy a more balanced and fulfilling life.
With some innovative thinking, I helped this ambitious, talented young man achieve a seemingly impossible career goal that changed the direction of his professional and personal life. After an initial consultation, we worked together to develop and raise his profile and get him noticed by senior decision makers in the City of London. It led to an amazing career opportunity with a major investment bank, a significant salary increase and international travel.
I was asked to work with a talented but rather volatile project architect who needed to improve his interpersonal communication skills with clients and colleagues. Through regular weekly coaching sessions, I was able to identify contributory factors and provide him with the tools, strategies and mindset needed to help him change his approach. Over the following weeks, his communication skills improved greatly and his professional relationships went from strength to strength, securing his future position and advancement within the company.
